Despite the immense popularity of the martial arts, nothing like this book exists. Out of 245 books on karate and/or the martial arts recently offered on the Internet, only one claimed to critique them. And that one was out of print!
As the martial arts movement spreads its powerful tentacles into churches, schools, and homes around the world, this timely book is an invaluable tool for concerned Christians. I thank God for providing a clear and practical expose of this popular phenom-enon rooted in the occult. All Christians need to understand the nature of the mystical forces that are captivating people, distorting truth, and blinding them to the true nature of God!
...a riveting testimony of Tonie's journey from rejection, inner conflict, and deception to a life of love, acceptance and truth. Her insight into the occult nature of the martial arts is well researched and rooted in her personal experience ... must read.
...fast-paced ... rich resources... Readers will be challenged to examine their relationship with the Lord and contemporary culture at a time when demonic influences, deception, and immorality are attempting to penetrate the church. .... an excellent resource for parents, educators, and pastors.
...every pastor needs it in his reference library! In fact, as ... our churches are flooded with seeking souls, we all need the knowledge [in] this book.
This gripping and powerful story testifies how one woman who was enmeshed in the martial arts was rescued from darkness, despair, and bondage and brought to hope, light and freedom in Jesus Christ. As he did, the wall on which he hung creaked into life and a massive stone door ground open with agonizing slowness, depositing him outside the labyrinthine monastery. His trial was over. Victorious at last, he was now a Certified Master of the Shaolin Monastery. And seared into the flesh of each arm as a perpetual reminder of his agony and triumph were two dragons.
Tonie sat remembering. She, too, had escaped from a hellish labyrinth with the serpent-dragons brand upon her. In her soul. In the twenty years since Bruce Lees film Enter the Dragon first swept her into a new world, she had come a long way...
